Empress Building Cosy Cinema Project

We are excited to share that we will be screening Movies as part of a cooperation with the COSY CINEMA & FOX GALLERY.

We're reintroducing film to the centre of Mexborough, formerly the proud home to eight theatres, a number of dance halls, and other venues. With suggestions from the neighbourhood, we will show anything from cult classics to modern British cinema.

Additionally, a throwback fee of just £1 will be charged for the showing. A table snack server will also be present as an usherette.

Additionally, the kitchen will be open, selling nachos, pop corn, pizza, hot dogs, and hamburgers.

A vast and magnificent historical location that has hosted a variety of dinners, dances, and live performances for almost a century has reopened its doors to host special events and private hiring gatherings after making significant investments.

The Empress Ballroom was built in the 1920s and still has its opulent furnishings and towering ceilings. The old-fashioned ballroom's sprung dance floor is the major attraction.

The Ballroom currently incorporates a 4m x 3m Big Screen and a stage-filling, modern digital sound system. This is a truly unique family experience because the space is set up with tables so that everyone has their own space for beverages and snacks.
